We are pleased to provide you with access to the January 2019 Career Tracks Program AND January 2019 Externship Program information and application materials. All application materials for both programs MUST be submitted by NOON (12PM) Friday, October 26th!

Career Tracks Program:

  • Students will rotate to different employers and organizations to provide a broad look at various sectors within a particular industry during a three to four day experience. Each employer visit will include interactions with a range of professionals and include a variety of activities. See Career Track Categories to view confirmed employers and outcomes for those career tracks.
  • All Career Tracks are scheduled during the first three full weeks of January break. For 2019, these are the weeks of January 7th, 14th, and 21st. Students who apply for a Career Track are applying for tracks with a pre-determined schedule of employer visits.
  • Please access the booklet of career track opportunities, as well as other important information, here: https://careerservices.lafayette.edu/career-planning/careertracks.
  • To find the Career Tracks program in CareerSpot to submit your application, search for the employer ‘Lafayette College Career Track Program’. BEFORE you apply, verify that the industry track you are applying to is in the location (city) you desire.
  • Pay special attention to the timeline on page 1 and the application instructions on page 4, which outline the two step application process.
  • For further questions regarding the Career Tracks program and application, please contact the Career Center. Drop-in opportunities with a Gateway Counselor are available prior to the application deadline.

Externship Program:

  • Through this program, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are given the opportunity to “shadow” an alumnus, parent, or friend of Lafayette in their workplace or graduate/professional school setting, for two to five days over the January interim break.
  • The January 2019 Externships are scheduled during the weeks of January 7th, 14th, & 21st. Pay close attention to host availability to ensure you’re selecting externships that best align to your January schedule.
